Undergraduate researchers win grant support from UNR

We’re so excited for the research to be conducted by the lab’s stellar undergraduate researchers in academic year 2022-2023. Konnor Kost and Noah Jordan are recipients of both the Nevada Undergraduate Research Award and the Daugherty-Westfall Undergrad Researcher Award. Konnor will be investigating the work in his proposal “Monarch caterpillar sequestration of pregnane glycosides as an alternative defense secondary metabolite.” Noah will be investigating the work in his proposal “Crossing nutrient and water inputs creates contrasting effects on the growth and reproduction of Asclepias fascicularis, a critical food resource for the threatened monarch butterfly.” Both were awarded additional money as Daugherty-Wesfall scholars to disseminate their research. Meanwhile, Alejandra Garcia will continue in the lab on her research into plant maternal effects supported by the Pack Research Experience Program. Congratulations, all!! We can’t wait to learn what you discover.
